I can't connect to my plates - what do I do?

Troubleshooting steps for connection problems

If you attempt to connect to your force plates, but are having issues, please follow these steps to troubleshoot:

1.  Ensure the app is updated.  Open the Google Play Store app and search for "Hawkin Capture."  Select the Hawkin Capture app from the search results list, and update the app if an update is available.  After updating, please attempt to connect again.

2.  Ensure Location services for the tablet are turned on.  Open the "Settings" app and search from "Location." If location services are disabled, enable them and attempt to connect again.

3.  Check to see if your plates are fully booting.  Reboot your plates and monitor the LED on the control panel of the right plate.  The lights should flash Blue-White-Green in a fast repetitive pattern to indicate they are in pairing mode, or will blink Blue or Yellow to indicate a normal status.  If the LED flashes red, stays solid green, or flashes Red-White-Blue-Green, please contact techsupport@hawkindynamics.com and reference that your plates aren't booting up correctly.

4.  Check permissions for the Hawkin app by opening the settings app on your tablet, then choose the "Apps" option on the left hand side, then scroll down to the Hawkin app.  In the Hawkin App Settings, choose permissions and ensure that all permissions are allowed for the Hawkin app (typically Location and Files/Media).  After making this change, reboot your plates and tablet and attempt to connect again.
